Here is our shop. The original shop was built in 1985 from trees we milled on our property. We soon outgrew it and, taking a loan from the local EDC, built on an addition in 1991 that basically tripled its size. Unfortunately the original shop, used for manufacturing our soaps and other products, was never brought up to the level of the addition - until 2006, when we were able to stop production long enough to gut most of the original building and lay a new floor, paint, install new counters and more.
The office in the newer shop, which shares the room with...
our shipping and warehousing.
The curing room, where we cut the soap and cure it, comprises the rest of the newer part of the building.
Beginning laying the new floor in the original part of the shop.

The soap kettles re installed, incluging the new, larger kettle.
The new lye station and venting.
The finished manufacturing area.
We are 'off the grid'. That is, we make our own electricity using Solar Photovoltaic panels and a wind generator and a small pelton wheel. This is the wall where all this comes together. Below the invertors and gauges is the box that holds our storage batteries with which we power our home and business.
Here is part of our solar array and wind generator.
We finished the work in time for an open house in August 2006, where we did various demos,
including cutting soap,
and had a display of our brochures and catalogs from 1985 until the present.
